EcoKimiko IPM Pty. Ltd. was formed in 2010 by Professor Peter Gregg and Dr. Alice Del Socorro, researchers at the University of New England.
Based in Armidale, NSW, we provide services and products related to insect pest management in Australian agriculture. We specialise in chemical ecology, the study of semiochemicals which influence insect behaviour. We conduct research to develop and commercialise new tools for sustainable pest management, based on behavioural manipulation of pests and beneficial insects.
Our clients include academic and government organisations and private enterprises in agriculture and the agricultural chemical industry.
The EcoKimiko Team
EcoKimiko is a hybrid of the English word ecological and the Filipino (Tagalog) word kimiko, meaning chemical. It reflects our different national heritages, and our shared interest in the fascinating and useful science of chemical ecology.
